Join us in helping people struggling with opioid addiction get their lives back! Workit is seeking a compassionate, motivated individual to assist us in delivering people with addictions the medical treatment, counseling, and support they desperately need and deserve.

Medical assistants are cross-trained to perform administrative and clinical duties. Medical assistants collect and prepare laboratory specimens or perform basic laboratory tests on the premises, dispose of contaminated supplies, and sterilize medical instruments. They also arrange examining-room instruments and equipment, purchase and maintain supplies and equipment, and keep waiting and examining rooms neat and clean.

We are looking for a Medical Assistant to support our Western Clinics. Candidates should reside in any of the following states: WA, OR, UT or AZ. The hourly pay rate for this role is $21/hour.

Our positions are currently remote for the foreseeable future. If in the future, your state requires in-person visits, you will be required to report to our onsite clinic.

Job Requirements

  • Certified Medical Assistant (Required)
  • Medical Office Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Vital Signs Experience: 1 year (Preferred)
  • EMR Systems: 1 year (Preferred)
  • CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA certification through an NCCA accredited program; or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) or RN (Registered Nurse)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, and attention to detail
  • Compassionate team player who is able to problem solve calmly and collaboratively
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Comfortable working in a fully remote environment
  • Enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to remain empathetic and patient with patients and team members in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interact with patients and others in a nonjudgmental and nondiscriminatory manner that is sensitive to cultural, racial and ethnic diversity.
  • May require weekend rotation


Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain appropriate patient logs and records, e.g., test orders, such that tracking is possible to ensure that test results are received, reviewed by physician, and communication is given to the patient.
  • Review patient medical records to assure that all needed test results, forms, and reports are available to physician/provider.
  • Perform in-office testing at the direction of physician/provider e.g. urinalysis
  • Assist physician or provider with completion of patient forms, and updating medication or problem lists
  • Assure that clinical areas and drug sample areas are maintained according to Joint Commission and other regulatory agencies
  • Develop and maintain appropriate patient logs and records, e.g., test orders, such that tracking is possible to ensure that test results are received, reviewed by the physician, and communication is given to the patient.
  • Assist physician and providers with prescription refill calls and patient callbacks.
  • Work in conjunction with the Clinical Coordinator, and others to assure compliance and safety.
  • Document patient phone calls and advice/treatment given in the patient medical record.
  • Call potential patients and assist them in scheduling appointments.
